New Apron

This apron was quite a challenge.  It was big and full to work with; I had to make bias edging, baste, rip out, baste again; on and on.  I think it is a pinafore apron.  The pictures are not good; I don't have anyone to model it for me, nor do I have a dress form to display it on, just the good old bed. ;)  First is a close-up of the fabric and the bottom front:

The Pattern, which I don't plan to use again ~ soon, that is:

There is a copyright number for the year 2007, but it might still be available.  I've had it for several years.  The contrasting color bias would have been nice on my apron but I couldn't fine anything that matched well enough to use.

Oh well, one never knows without trying.

  3. I love it, Charlotte! You are so talented.

And, actually it seems like maybe my mom had a pattern very similar. I don't sew. :(

Happy Easter to you and yours!

  4. You know aprons are making a comeback, or so I've read. I love this apron and would steal it away from you in a heartbeat, if only I could.

  8. It is a beautiful apron and you did such a good job. It looks complicated, but I LOVE the pinafore style and the fabric you used. I make and use a lot of bias tape but I've never figured out how to correctly sew the strips together to make the tape. Yours looks so neat and pretty.

  9. I love your apron. The pattern is awesome and your fabric fits it to a tea! I have a vintage pattern from the late 1940's that I used and I'm still wearing the apron.

  13. I made that pattern several years ago, with purchased bias tape. It was cute but I didn’t like the way it fit and all that fidgety sewing was not enjoyable.
