It is worth it to have them fixed, though, I think. I know what you mean about the dread of going there. I don't like being leaned way back either. I also don't like the bright light shining in my eyes. Hope you can get everything fixed soon. :)Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03865193802444007545noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5182624667490286266.post-27750768517823107362014-03-12T08:33:07.140-07:002014-03-12T08:33:07.140-07:00thinking of you and this subject.

My grandma had a poultry farm and hatchery. I spent so much of my younger years helping her "take off" the baby chicks (out of the incubator into the boxes). Back in the old days, the dentist just went ahead and did what he had to do no matter how much it hurt you and rarely did he use novacaine--and those old drills? Vibrated you brains!! I have a lovely dentist now, but I too hate how I have to lay back so far and have absolutely no control!!! I hold the suction tube in my hand and use it whenever I want to--during my cleaning, as my dentist now uses the ultra sonic cleaning tool that blasts off the tartar and uses enough water to drown a person, LOL. Yes--if your teeth are still good, do all you can to save them.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03399435237919718544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5182624667490286266.post-82476514448725854672014-03-11T05:58:03.552-07:002014-03-11T05:58:03.552-07:00I have a hard time with teeth too and have one cap...I have a hard time with teeth too and have one cap next week being put on - I have the temp right now and later this year I need to schedule one more to be done - I'm getting them one at a time and before you know it my whole mouth will be full of crowns - I should ask about a retainer and see what he says - I have a horrible mouth of teeth and horrible jawKaren - Quilts...etc.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07293429657903986492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5182624667490286266.post-71640787879538727532014-03-11T01:52:42.700-07:002014-03-11T01:52:42.700-07:00I have to start the process to get a crown on the ...I have to start the process to get a crown on the 12th. NOT looking forward to it. What do I not like? Nearly everything. Feeling like I'm going to strangle because the girl does not use the suction often enough. Having someone's hands in my mouth. Having my mouth open so wide that it hurts. Not to mention the shot. And the whirring of the machine. And that nasty cherry-flavored goo they put over the stump of the tooth to make the crown. Why must everything nasty be cherry flavored? Do they not know they are ruining that flavor for so many? And how floppy my mouth feels till the shot wears off.

but, like you, it's not something I can choose not to do. Broken tooth. No pain, but sensitivity to hot and cold, and I'm sure the rest will follow if I don't get something done now.

And then there's the cost. Dental work used to be reasonable, and then they started selling dental insurance. Wow, the cost is enough to make me faint dead away.

I guess we should be grateful we live in a time when we're able to keep our own teeth, regardless of what has to be done.
