Farm Wife ~~ Monday
This little piece of sculpture, dated 1985, was made by our middle daughter in a college art class. I guess it's a pretty good depiction of Popa and me, although we're not quite that old looking yet ~~ I don't think ~~ and the hat would more likely be on me. I think it's a splendid work of art! She is very talented, and as a child, when playing with her sisters, she would be making something for the dolls to wear instead of just carrying the dolls around. Her talent must come from her daddy, for they both can do just about anything they set their mind to do.
To see more of her work, go to the second half of the post for Nov. 18, 2010, We need a House.

That is a first class sculpture. Love your doll collection. Do you still have them and did you get a house?
ReplyDeleterkbsnana, I do still have the dolls; they stand on a shelf in the sewing room. No doll house though ;(
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate this sculpture now more than ever before. It really is "first class" as rkbnana said.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sculpture.. it's a keepsake for sure and the dolls are beautiful..I collect Rag Dolls..Susie
ReplyDeleteWow! Your daughter's talents are amazing. That's a true treasure of a bust she sculpted. Her wood furniture looks so authentic for it to be doll size. Your daughter could take her gifts of sculpting, woodworking, sewing and design and rival dollmakers like Robert Tonner and Madame Alexander.
ReplyDeleteIt does my heart good to see such talent. You must be so proud.
When I went to look at your wooden dolls, I enjoyed seeing all your beautiful quilts. How do you it?
Looks like your daughter got her talents of creativity from you. Cool! :)
I love the sculpture.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing
and for visiting me
and your kind words :)
How special!
ReplyDeleteShe is very talented Charlotte. I think she must have inherited from both of you. You are wonderfully creative my friend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful work........I will go read you post. What does your daughter do now.........is she a working artist?? Blessings, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazingly talented young lady. Beautiful sculpture and even more so knowing that it was created just for you.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, Charlotte! I took 4 years of art class but sculpture wasn't one of my strong points... :)
ReplyDeleteShe did a great job...I love to see kids being creative! Our 2 grandsons are always wanting to do experiments or make something everytime they come to our house...which is quite often. :o)
ReplyDeleteYes, she is very talented! My son did a sculpture of a fist when he was in grade school and it won a best of show ribbon at the county art show. It was just a fist with a thumbs up, but we were proud of him and I have it sitting on my entertainment center.
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish you would throw that thing away! LOL I saw the post and said "Oh no! You mean she still has that thing?" Really the only sculpture I ever made that I even halfway liked was that bust of Sitting Bull...it is sitting on my cabinet at work because it had no place else to go.
