This old canning jar was filled with antique sewing supplies: wooden spools still holding thread, several packages of needles, old buttons and thimbles, wooden cases filled with machine needles, small balls of crochet thread, and two, slighted rusty crochet hooks. Don't you wonder what was made with these items?
Do you stuff things away?
Yes I do-and I love finding them later and remembering each item : )
ReplyDeleteI do, but they usually aren't nearly as unique and fun as the things you've found. Once in a while, though, I discover a little treasure!
ReplyDeleteI have lots of jars but not as interesting as yours.. I feel like a pack rat sometimes..
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful rediscovery. Treasures.
ReplyDeleteI am a 'junk' keeper...I see those jacks you have..I always loved to play jacks, wonder if I still could..hmmm...maybe I'll go get me some and see...do they still make jacks ? I wonder....great post..Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI have little things stuck away in jars and drawers and boxes and on shelves. There's just something so enchanting about a jar full of things. They're like little smiles tucked away waiting to be rediscovered and enjoyed again. :)
ReplyDeleteThese look so interesting! I pack stuff away all the time. Most of mine is packed away in boxes and drawers. (the majority of it could probably be trashed, but I can't bear to do that!)
ReplyDeleteI love your little things stuffed into canning jars - a great way to display if one wanted to.
ReplyDeleteI have sea glass and tiny rocks smoothed from the water in jars.
Yes, I do. I have so many little things put here and there. I just loved looking at your treasures! Have a happy Thanksgiving. blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteYes, I do stash stuff away... then forget about it until I find it again and think, "Oh! I don't remember keeping that..." *hehe*
ReplyDeleteI love running on to things like that, they always bring back so many memories.

Yes, I'm always stuffing things away. I would love to have my jacks from my childhood days. We'd sit and play for hours.
ReplyDeleteOh, good heavens. How I do stuff things away. I'm trying to move right now (slow going) and I am overwhelmed--make that OVERWHELMED--with all my stuff that I've stuffed away. It practically causes me pain to throw anything away. I always want to find a use for every little thing. You can only push so much junk off onto to Goodwill! I enjoyed seeing your jars of stuff. Makes me feel right at home.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I have done that - but now in the 3 score and 10 years trying to simplify. Your jar reminded me of the big jars my mother had filled with spools of thread.
ReplyDeleteI keep a little jar with found money. Looked at it the other day.
Filled with pennie, every now and then a nickel, dime or quarter.
I started the jar in 1977. My little granddaughter's are facinated with this jar. I also put a tiny slip of paper in it with a prayer request and then date when answered :) A jar filled with so many memories and how the Lord has always been faithful and answered my prayers in his timeing.
Blessings to you Charlotte on this very day..
Love your little jars. What fun it is to find something like that and relive the memories. My sister keeps a vintage bowl on her bedroom dresser. It's filled with little treasures that she likes to look through now and then. ~~Rhonda
