I have only two requests when I die. Number one is when my obituary is written, I want to be known as a farm wife instead of a frowzy old housewife. Number two is that I be buried with my jeans, t-shirt and boots on. I might have to do a few chores when I get to that big farm in the sky!"

There you go!! Made me smile! blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this. I grew up on a farm and still remember the joy I felt helping my dad every morning. I have often said that I want to be buried in my jeans!
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Sounds like honest words straight from a farm girl's heart.
ReplyDelete:)
Hi again. You asked me on my embroidery blog about how I make the potholder thick enough..........well I realized I meant to say that they were hot pads or trivets to place on the table for a warm casserole or tea pot. I dont think they would be thick enough for pot holders. I used batting and a thick piece of cotton fabric on the inside........to answer your question. Thanks for stopping by both blogs to say hello. blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteA perfectly lovely quote. I'm sure you echo her sentiments Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteI don't live on a farm but I do love my blue jeans. A couple a pairs of jeans and lots of nice shirts or blouses..my favorite, for sure.
ReplyDeleteNoticed your comment on my flea market finds. We went to one on Hwy 7 on the way to Dardanelle and then Collector's Gallery in Russellville this weekend. I never can find well priced items like some do though.
ReplyDelete*hehe* Very cute and wise words, Charlotte... I'm sure I'll need my boots in the hereafter too! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Isn't there a tv show about this very thing?
ReplyDeleteKindness is a great word!!
Oh, I love that quote!
ReplyDeleteLove the new look of your blog too!
Love the photo-and the quote too : )
ReplyDeleteLove the quote. Guess I want my gardening items to go along with me....
ReplyDeleteLove the quote and honestly who likes house work? Ok well maybe some do, I do like a clean house! ha
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather work in the gardens all day, or cooking the food! Love cooking and eating!
Love the quote. I much prefer digging in the garden to dusting, but someone has to do it! So wish you could be at my quilting bee; wouldn't we have a great day? Kindness is a great name for a year; Lord knows we need more of it!
ReplyDeleteHow neat! It seems us wives always have to help with the outside work, but the husbands never help with the inside work. It's just not fair. I'd much rather work outside, too, I don't like housework.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I'll probably never be a farmer's wife, but I can relate to appreciating the work outside. I'd rather be dressed in my jeans and t-shirt and digging in my garden or working on my property than doing almost anything else.
ReplyDeleteA true Farm Girl!
ReplyDeleteSo true, my mum grew up a country girl and said she was never happier than when she was sitting under a cow milking it......
ReplyDeleteProblems with her feet, meant wearing shoes was quite painful and gumboots were the most comfortable footwear she had. Her request was to be buried wearing them and I made sure that happened.....
