Two new puzzles were given to me at Christmas. Putting puzzles together is one of my favorite things to do; howbeit, they do make me feel guilty for wasting time. For instance, I've more or less neglected my quilting this week, the clothes that need to be ironed are still waiting in the basket, but I have keep up with the housework and cooking, and my farm chores.
This puzzle has 1000 pieces, many which look exactly the same in shape and color, and there have been times I've thought about dumping it all back into the box; however, when I look at it I realize quite a bit has been done in five days (and nights). Is it true keeping the mind busy is a good thing? Maybe so, if I don't go insane first!
I haven't worked a puzzle in years but they sure are fun and yes they suck me in and I forget to finish my chores! It's a lovely scene, I can see why you are hooked.
ReplyDeleteI love working puzzles Charlotte, but I haven't done one in a long time. I'm like you - I tend to get so caught up in it I neglect other things.
ReplyDeleteI think it must be a great exercise for the mind! I really do. And the picture is just beautiful.
My son gave me one last Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI gave up on it. My little granddaughter's even tried to help me. Guess I need a child's puzzle :)
It is good for the mind. Hopefully my computer, camera and reading will keep my mind healthy.
Your puzzle is beautiful....
It's beautiful..and so you!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I've been doing this week! I really enjoy working them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful puzzle, Charlotte! I haven't worked one in years. Do you have them framed when you complete them?
ReplyDeleteThat puzzle is absolutely perfect for you: a farm and a quilt, two of your passions.
ReplyDeletePuzzles are such great fun. It's like you said, when we have a puzzle going, we tend to get lost in each successful piece found and let chores & things go undone for a short while. ;)
Are you going to frame it when you're done? It'd make a lovely wall hanging.
Have a relaxing puzzle-putting-together weekend. :)
I love puzzles and didn't get a one this year for Christmas.. They suck me in too. I may buy me one and start it, see you gave me the puzzle fever...Susie
ReplyDeleteI love puzzles too! But what really cracked me up was the miniature candy bar in the background~ I have a little stash of those very same ones that I keep in my sewing room! *Shhhh~ don't tell!* hehe
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty puzzle! I think working puzzles is a wonderful thing to do. When our children were young, we used to all sit together and work on puzzles. I miss that! blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten how fun puzzels could be until a few friends reminded me on a trip a year or so ago. Putting one together is so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely puzzle. I rarely work puzzles, but did get one about a year ago and enjoyed it--up to a point. I got so frustrated, toward the end with so many pieces (the sky) that looked alike, I had to put it up for a while. Then, one day, I went back to it and had the satisfaction of finishing it. I'm glad you're able to give yourself permission to indulge yourself now and then!
