Spring Flower

One of the first of my spring flowers to bloom is this little yellow crocus, barely noticeable among dead leaves and iris fronds. About twenty four years ago, my oldest daughter planted some crocus bulbs on her grandmother's (my mother's) grave. When it comes time for the cemetery to be mowed, the flower will have died down, allowing it to appear again the next year. I think Mama would be glad it's there; she loved real flowers.

  3. Such a sweet, little tribute Charlotte.
Thank you so much for your note. I love learning more about the work you do.
I'll post a few pictures of the house tomorrow if I can. It's coming along (although my poor husband has had massive headaches with the poor workmanship of some of the trades.).

  6. the crocus are up in our area, too. And I have a few daffodils in bloom. I love the yellow blooms, but it is too early. They are going to get very cold before it is over.

  7. How special. My mother only put real flowers on the family graves. Never, ever put anything artificial on them.
And I've never put artificial flowers on hers.
