Same Song -- Second Verse

For those of you who have been reading about the hot temperatures we're having, these posts are probably becoming like the words to an old song: "Same song, second verse; could get better, but it's gonna get worse!" So I might as well say it and get it over with -- 114* today!! And that's on the front porch, in the shade! When I rode in the Kubota to check the chickens, the air blowing on my face felt like I was in front of the wood burning furnace: parching hot

Around 5:00 p.m. we were on the fringes of a shower while the sun was shining. There's an old saying, "Rain while the sun is shining, and it'll rain this time tomorrow." We'll see -- hope.

  1. We seem to be singing the same song here Charlotte. 103 for us today and no rain in sight. It begins to affect the spirit just a bit.
How nice to have such a sweet visitor. And how thankful we are for a.c.!

  2. I know what you mean. The song is getting old, wish a big cold front would come through and bring in fall. Just wishful thinking on my part but we can pray there will be an early fall..Susie

  4. I don't know where in the south you are but WOW that is hot. I think the hottest I've been in was 100 with 90something humidity and that was too much, I cannot imagine being in that heat. Be well in the heat.

  7. We had rain last night. I am thankful for it. It is still gray and overcast this morning and I hope it rains more. But even the gray and overcast is a relief from the blazing heat we've been experiencing. Try to stay cool. I hope you got some rain.

  8. Hi, just found your comment on my embroidery blog and you asked about the knotting? The back of my work looks pretty much just like the front because I don't carry threads over when finishing off. In cross stitch, I always weave under and never knot. In embroidery, sometimes I knot, depending on the thread I use. Some silk threads come undone, although I use cotton floss more. Usually I weave under in embroidery, unless I think the stitching might come undone. Hope this helps with your question. Have a wonderful weekend. blessings,Kathleen

  9. You better try and stay in out of that heat.It is hot here and the rain just seems to keep going around us. My garden is drying up, I don't know if our few watermelons are going to get ripe in time or not.
